Dinner with the 杨家将
Sunday, July 31st, 2005On the faithful day of 30th July 2005, Jie was cordially invited to have dinner with the 杨家将s. For those who are wondering, they are actually Daddy Yeo, Mummy Yeo and Christine Yeo. Qi was halfway across the globe (down under) doing another battle so it was quite unfortunate that she was not able to join us.
The venue was at Hyatt Hotel Mezza9. We met each other with warm smiles and exchanges at the lobby and off we went to the second floor where we were quickly ushered to our seats.
There were a few things which Qi’s mummy said were good at Mezza9. So she was quick to order them. Christine was a little hesitant about what to order and so she decided to have the Mezza9 Set, a selection of food from different kitchens! Qi’s daddy wanted to be a vegetarian that day. Although i could tell he was quite tempted to enjoy the beef tenderloin i was having, he decided against it and shared some other food with Qi’s mummy.
What we shared:
- Bread
- Caesar’s Salad (With bacon, Christine was questioning why her daddy was eating bacon…)
- Mango Salad with soft shell crab

Christine had her foi gras, japanese sushi, vegetable yakitoris, pomelo salad with chicken, steamed prawns, boston grilled lobster and raspberry crisp/babana pancake and icecream. Qi’s mummy and daddy shared a fried hor fun. Jie had his beef and side order of mashed potatoes. For dessert, we ordered and shared: a tiramisu, a chocolate truffle and a black forest cake.

We left the restaurant at about 9pm. It took us almost 2 hours to finish our dinner. But it was a good one.Nothing beats having a nice meal, at a nice place, with good company. Thank you Uncle, Auntie and Christine!!

This blog will be dedicated to the Yeos, and to a particular one especially.
